Sishu Udyan Foundation

Our foundation is located at 4, Govt Place, right in the busy heart of Kolkata. Being in the 700001 area means there is always noise and movement outside our windows. Sishu Udyan Foundation is a small setup, and we spend most of our time thinking about the kids in this city. The building we are in is quite old, with those high ceilings and thick walls you see in this part of town. Inside, it is a bit of a mix-up. We have stacks of books in one corner and old wooden desks in the other. It’s not the most organized place, but we know where everything is. We don't have a marketing team or people to write fancy reports. We just do the work. Local families stop by often, and the office can get quite loud with children running around or people talking all at once. We like it that way. It feels alive. We are just a group of ordinary people who wanted to create a space that focuses on the younger generation. We don't have much in the way of funding, so we make do with what we have. Sometimes we have to fix the ceiling or deal with the heat when the fans aren't enough, but we stay focused on why we are here. It’s just us trying to do something decent for the community in our own small way. It isn't perfect, but it's ours.
