Shikshanabish

Shikshanabish is located at G A 8 in the Rabindra Pally area. It is basically right in the heart of the residential block here in Kolkata 700059. The street is usually filled with people going about their grocery shopping or kids playing in the afternoon. Our space is pretty basic. We have some wooden tables and a few shelves filled with books and old folders. It is not a corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. It feels more like a house that was turned into a workspace. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to say hello or ask a quick question. We spend most of our hours here reading or helping people with their queries. The lighting is okay, though we had to add a few extra bulbs last winter. Everything has a bit of a worn-in feel, which I think makes people feel more comfortable. We do not have a big reception desk. Usually, whoever is closest to the door just looks up and says hello. It gets a bit hot in the summer, so we keep the fans on full speed. You learn to ignore the sound after a while. We are not trying to be the biggest place in the city. We are just here doing our thing day by day. It is a simple setup for simple work. Most of us have been around here for years.
