Shantana Roy Coaching Centre

Shantana Roy Coaching Centre is located in Sovana Apartment at 3A Shyamnagar Road. We are specifically in Flat No D2. Because we are in an apartment building, it has a very different feel than a regular school. It’s more like a home environment which I think helps the students feel a bit more relaxed. Shyamnagar Road is a busy part of Kolkata 700055 and there is always something happening outside. We have converted the rooms of the flat into small study areas. We have a few tables and some chairs and plenty of light from the windows. It’s not a fancy setup with a lot of new equipment. We mostly rely on books and manual work. Being in an apartment means we have to be a bit careful about the noise so we don't disturb the neighbors. Most of the people who come here are from the local buildings. We have been in this flat for a long time and the walls are covered with notes and student work. There is a small kitchen area where we make tea and sometimes students bring their lunch. It’s a very personal way of running a coaching centre. We don't have a big administrative staff. It’s just a few of us handling everything from the teaching to the cleaning. We just aim to provide a quiet corner for study. It is a simple place where students can come to work.
