Sebabrata Foundation

Sebabrata Foundation is located at 35/1 Nrisingha Dutta Road in Kolkata. It’s a pretty standard street, nothing too special about it. We are at LP 95/12, which helps people find the exact spot when they are looking for us. The neighborhood is typical for this part of the city, with houses close together and a lot of daily life happening right on the doorstep. We run things from here in a very simple way. There isn't any fancy signage or big billboards. It’s just an old-fashioned building where we have our office space. We spend most of our hours sitting around the table discussing what needs to be done next. The 700008 area is where we belong. People from the nearby blocks often walk past and wave while we are working. It’s a very human way to live and work. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who care about the neighborhood. The rooms are a bit cramped with all the paperwork, but we manage. Sometimes we have to move boxes around just to find a place to sit. It’s the kind of place where the fan creaks a little and the walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but it feels like home. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a shiny office. We just want to do the work we set out to do from this little corner of Nrisingha Dutta Road.
