Sanskrit Siksayatan

Our place, Sanskrit Siksayatan, is at 160 Laxminarayan Road. We are located right at the Dum Dum Cantonment area, which is a fairly quiet part of the 700065 neighborhood. The building is a bit tucked away, so you have to keep an eye out for the number 160 on the gate. Inside, it feels very traditional. We have lots of old wooden furniture and stacks of books everywhere you look. It has that distinct smell of old paper and ink. We don't have much in the way of modern technology or fancy computers. We prefer to do things the old-fashioned way with pens and notebooks. The rooms are simple and the walls could probably use some fresh paint, but we don't mind much. We are more focused on the lessons we give than how the building looks. It’s just a few of us running the whole show. We handle the cleaning, the scheduling, and the teaching ourselves. During the hot months, the fans run constantly to keep the air moving. People in the area are friendly and we often see the same faces walking past our windows every morning. It’s a very grounded and honest way to earn a living. We aren't trying to be a big chain or anything like that. We just want to provide a space where local students can come and learn in a quiet environment.
