Sanskrit Education Centre

This center is located out in the 700124 area of Kolkata. We focus on Sanskrit, which isn't something you see everywhere these days. It’s a quiet place, mostly because we need to focus on the texts and the grammar. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy outside. Most people who find us hear about it from someone else in the neighborhood. The room is pretty basic, just some shelves with old books and a couple of tables where we sit. It’s not a high-tech setup. We use paper and pens, and sometimes we just talk. The air gets a bit stuffy in the summer, but we have the fans going. It’s a slow kind of work, studying an old language like this. We aren't in a rush. Sometimes a few people show up, sometimes it's just one or two. We don't mind. It’s more about keeping the subject alive in our own little corner of the city. We’ve been doing this for a while now, and it’s become a part of our daily life. No one is getting rich here, but that’s not really the point. We just open the doors in the morning and see who comes in. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day. The area around here is mostly residential, so it stays fairly peaceful compared to the city center. It’s just us and the books. We don't do much advertising.
