Samilton Hotel

Our hotel sits on Sarat Bose Road, which is also called Lala Lajpat Rai Sarani, in the middle of Kolkata. It’s a very busy part of the city, with trams and taxis passing by all day and night. We’ve been running this place for a long time now. The building is an old one, and it has its share of quirks. We spend a lot of time on maintenance because the Kolkata weather can be quite tough on everything. We have several floors of rooms, and they are pretty basic. We aren't a five-star luxury place, just a decent spot for people who need to stay in this part of town. The lobby is small, so it gets crowded when people are checking in with their luggage. We have a small kitchen where we make breakfast for the guests. Our staff knows the neighborhood well and can tell you where to find the best local shops. It’s a family-run business, so we do a lot of the work ourselves. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy website. Most of our guests are people who have stayed with us before or heard about us from friends. It can be noisy because of the main road, but that’s just how it is in this part of the city. We just try to keep the rooms clean and the guests comfortable.
