Sajiwani Foundation

We are Sajiwani Foundation, and you can find us over on Shibrampur Road in the New Jote area of Kanchan Nagar. This is part of South 24 Parganas. Our office is in a building called I3/104. It is a pretty quiet spot compared to the main city. We started this because we saw a lot of things in our local area that needed a bit of attention. We aren't some big-shot organization with lots of funding. We are just people from the neighborhood. Some of us have day jobs and we do this in our spare time. Others are here more often. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment or a polished way of speaking. We just talk to people like human beings. Sometimes our office is a bit of a mess with papers everywhere, and we might not always answer the phone on the first ring, but we do care about the work. We try to help out where we can in Kanchan Nagar. It’s a lot of practical stuff, not big theories. If someone has a problem and they live nearby, they come to us. We try to figure out a way to help. It’s just how things are done here. We aren't looking to be famous or anything. We just want to be a useful part of the community here in South 24 Parganas. We are just ordinary people trying our best with what we have in this little office.
