S & S Enterprise

Our place is tucked away on Atul Krishna Basu Lane, right at number 6. It’s one of those narrow spots where you have to know where you’re going or you might miss us. S & S Enterprise is basically just a small team of us working out of this space. We do various bits of trading and supply work, depending on what people in the neighborhood are looking for that week. The lane gets a bit crowded in the afternoons when the local deliveries start moving, but we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the street. It’s an old building, so it has its quirks, like the door that sticks when it rains and the way the light hits the back desk in the morning. We don't have a big front office with a receptionist; usually, whoever is closest to the door just answers it. Most of our day is spent on the phone or checking through inventory piles. We started this because we saw a gap for basic supplies around here, and we just stayed. It’s not a glamorous setup, just desks, some storage racks, and a lot of notebooks. We keep track of everything manually mostly because it’s what we know. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. It's a simple operation and we like it that way. We've known the neighbors for years now and that makes it feel like home.
