Ruddrani Simul Foundation

We set up Ruddrani Simul Foundation right here in Saheb danga village. It is not some grand office with glass windows, just a small space at Subhas Das’s place. We are located near the Chalmara post office. Life moves at a different pace in this part of the world. Most of us here are just local people who wanted to do something useful for our neighbors. We started small and we are still small, to be honest. There is no big staff or fancy computers. We just sit together and figure out what needs doing today. Sometimes it is about helping a family, other times it is just about making sure things are running okay in the village. It can be a bit messy sometimes. We forget to file papers or the rain makes it hard to get around Saheb danga. But we are always around. You can find us easily if you ask for Subhas Das. We don't have a big marketing plan or anything like that. We just do the work that comes our way. It feels right to be here in our own community. We know the people and they know us. Sometimes we sit outside when the power goes out and just talk about what to do next. It is just a few of us trying our best with what we have in this corner of West Bengal. We are just a regular group of people from the village and that's it.
