Our office is at No 44, Baranashi Ghosh Street, which is quite close to the Girish Park Metro Station. If you know that area, you know how crowded it gets with people rushing to the train. Rank One Security Services has been operating from this little corner for a good bit of time. The building is an old one, like most of them in this part of the city. We have a couple of desks pushed together and a lot of ledgers that we still fill out by hand. There is a small window that looks out onto the street, and we can hear the tea seller shouting every morning. We don't have any marketing experts or slick presentations. Usually, it’s just one or two of us sitting there coordinating shifts for the guards who work at the various apartments and shops nearby. Sometimes a guard comes in to complain about his shoes or to ask for a day off, and we sit and figure it out. It’s a very hands-on kind of job. We don’t use much technology besides a few mobile phones. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy with the schedules to worry about that. It’s a local business through and through, and we like the fact that we can walk to the Metro in two minutes.
