Rangan Biotech (Opc) Private Limited is based out of a small village called Banharispur in the Howrah district. To find us, you would go to Lal Chand Das’s place, which is where we have everything set up. It is right near the Panchla police station area. Being a biotech company in a place like this is interesting because people usually expect us to be in a big city lab. But we like it here in the 711322 zip code. It is a bit quieter and we can focus on the work. We deal with various biological bits and pieces. It is mostly technical stuff that takes a lot of time and patience. Sometimes the power goes out, which is a pain, but we have backups for the important equipment. The village life is slow, but our work keeps us on our toes. We do not have a big corporate team, just a couple of us handling the daily tasks. We take the bus or ride bikes to get around. Most of the neighbors know what we do even if they do not quite get the science part. We started this because we had an interest in how things grow and change at a small level. We are not trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to do our job well and stay rooted in our village. It is a honest day’s work for us.
