Jagdev Singh Virk

Our office is on the fourth floor of the building at 58-D, N.S. Road. You have to go up to Room No. 409 to find us. It’s one of those older buildings where the stairs feel a bit steep if you aren't used to them. Jagdev Singh Virk is the name on the plate by the door. Inside, it is a pretty basic room with enough space for a few desks and some tall stacks of files that seem to grow every week. We have a window that looks out over N.S. Road, so we get a good view of the traffic and the people walking by below. It’s often quite noisy with the sounds of the city coming up to the fourth floor, but we’ve learned to talk over it. We don't have any fancy decorations or a lounge area. It’s just a place where we come to handle our daily business and keep things moving. Sometimes the light flickers in the hallway, or the door sticks a bit when it’s humid out. We just give it a good shove and get on with things. Most of our day is spent on the phone or typing away at the computer. We try to keep things simple and honest. When someone comes in, they usually just pull up a chair and we get straight to whatever needs doing. It’s a no-nonsense kind of office in a very busy part of town.
