R C Bothra Foundation

The R C Bothra Foundation is based out of an office on the 6th floor of 2 Clive Ghat Street. Being up on the sixth floor means we have to wait for the lift a lot, which gives us time to chat with the neighbors in the building. Room Number 6 is where everything happens. It’s an old building in a part of Kolkata that’s always crowded with people and traffic. You can hear the city noise even from up here, but you get used to it after a few days. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. When you walk in, you’re basically right in the middle of our workspace. There are stacks of papers and a few desks that have seen better days. It’s not the most modern place, but it’s where we feel comfortable. We’ve been in this room for quite some time now. Most of the staff has been around since the start, so we all know how the coffee machine works and which windows get stuck when it rains. We try to stay organized, though sometimes things get a bit cluttered during the busier weeks. It's just a practical space for us to get our work done without any unnecessary fuss. We don’t care much for fancy decorations or shiny floors. As long as we have a working phone and a place to sit, we’re good to go. It’s a real Kolkata office, through and through.
