Paul Traders

Paul Traders is located at P-103/A on Kalipada Mukherjee Road in the Barisha area. Being in a residential part of town makes it feel very local. Our shop is a small place where we handle all our trading activities. Boxes are stacked up high against the walls because we try to use every bit of space. A new shipment coming in makes it a bit of a squeeze sometimes. Having been here for a long time, we know most of the shopkeepers on this street. Opening the shutters and sweeping the front starts the morning. A lot of time is spent on the phone talking to suppliers and customers. Back and forth conversations happen all day. Fancy computer systems or high-tech gadgets are not used here. Paper ledgers and a basic calculator are mostly how we keep track of things. Sitting in the dark for a bit happens when the electricity goes out, but the work continues. It is a simple life and a simple business. Trying to be the biggest traders in Kolkata is not our goal. Doing our work and going home to our families at night is what matters. The neighborhood is nice and the people around here are usually friendly to us. We have been part of the community for ages. We just take things one day at a time.
