Pathsala

Pathsala is located in the Durganagar area, specifically near the Dum Dum Cantonment Railway Station and Subhas Nahar in Kolkata 700065. It’s a very specific part of the city, and being near the station makes it easy for people to find us even if they aren't from the immediate neighborhood. The building we are in is quite old and has a lot of character. We have high ceilings which help keep it a bit cooler in the summer months. The name Pathsala feels right for the way we do things here—very traditional and basic. We have wooden benches and some old-fashioned blackboards that we still use alongside the newer ones. There’s a small courtyard out front where people sometimes wait. We don’t have a fancy office setup. Our main desk is just a heavy wooden table covered in stacks of books and registers. We spend a lot of time just managing the daily flow of people. The noise from the railway station is a constant backdrop to everything we do. You get used to the sound of the announcements and the trains pulling in. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s just a local place for learning and work. We keep things honest and straightforward. Most of our day is spent right here in these rooms, making sure everything is ready for the next set of people who walk through the door.
