Oberoi Grand

People have been coming to 15, Jawaharlal Nehru Road for a long time now. We see the same faces often, and some new ones too, which is nice. The building has its quirks, like the way the light hits the floor in the afternoon. Most of us who work here have been around for years, so we know where everything is kept. It gets busy on this street, with all the cars and people walking by. Sometimes the noise from outside drifts in, but you get used to it after a while. We spend a lot of time just keeping things tidy and making sure the rooms are ready. It’s a big place, so there is always something that needs fixing or painting. Some days are quieter than others, and those are the times when we sit and have a cup of tea in the back. We don't really do much fancy stuff, just what needs doing to keep the doors open. The neighborhood has changed quite a bit since I started, but this corner stays pretty much the same. You see the taxis lined up outside every morning. We just try to get through the day and make sure nobody has any major complaints. It’s just a job for some, but for us, it’s where we spend most of our lives. We don't have a big speech about what we do, we just show up and start working. We also have to keep an eye on the lobby because people wander in just to look around.
