Nitya Raksha Welfare Foundation is over at D 639 in Lake Gardens. Lake Gardens is one of those parts of Kolkata that has a lot of character. Our office is just a regular place in this residential area. It’s a good spot to be because it’s relatively calm compared to the main roads. We don’t have a big staff, just a few local people who care about getting things done. The building itself is pretty standard, and our space inside is kept simple. We have a few tables, some chairs, and a lot of folders. Most of our time goes into organizing and making sure our records are right. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll see people in suits every day. We’re more likely to be in casual clothes, just working through the daily pile of work. Sometimes the internet is a bit slow, or we run out of tea, but we manage. Being in Lake Gardens means we get to see the local life every day, which keeps us aware of what’s happening around us. We aren't a huge organization with a lot of money to spend on fancy things. We just use what we have to keep the foundation running from this address. It’s a steady, quiet kind of work that we do here. We just try to be useful and keep everything moving along without any big or unnecessary complications.
