Motherslove Welfare Foundation

You’ll find us at 44B Pratapaditya Road. It’s an old building, but it’s got a lot of character. Motherslove Welfare Foundation is run by a small group of us who wanted to do something for the mothers and children around this part of town. The rooms are a bit small and the paint is peeling in some corners, but we keep it clean. We have some toys in the corner for when people bring their kids along. Most of our day is spent talking to women who need a bit of a hand. Maybe they need help finding a doctor or just some advice on school stuff for their little ones. We don’t have a big manual or a corporate strategy. We just listen and try to be useful. Sometimes it’s a bit chaotic with kids running around and phones ringing, but that’s the reality of it. We buy our own supplies and sometimes neighbors drop off things they don’t need anymore. It’s a very local, very personal kind of thing. We aren't trying to change the whole world, just the lives of the people who walk through our door. We’ve been here on Pratapaditya Road for a while now, and most people in the neighborhood know where to find us. It’s just us doing what we can with what we have, day in and day out. We often stay late talking to parents who can only come after their work shift ends.
