We’ve been running the Middleton Solitaire Hotel India operation from this address for some time now. It’s an old building, but it has a lot of character, even if the paint is peeling in some spots. We don't have those fancy automatic doors or a lobby filled with marble. It’s more of a traditional setup. We handle the hotel side of things, making sure the rooms are ready and the guests are looked after. Sometimes the traffic outside is so loud we have to shout over the phone. We aren't interested in being a big chain. We like being a local spot on Sarat Bose Road. My family has been in this area for years, so we know the neighborhood well. We do our own bookings and manage the staff ourselves. There’s always something that needs fixing, like a light bulb or a leaky tap in one of the bathrooms. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s ours. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just provide a place to stay. Some of our regulars have been coming here for a decade. We know their names and how they like their tea. It's just a simple, straightforward hotel business. We're here every day, making sure things go as they should for the guests.
