Matua Football Foundation

If you look for us, we are at 3H, 118 on Fakir Para Road in Behala. Matua Football Foundation is basically run out of this small space. Behala is always crowded, and getting through the traffic to the office can be a real headache some afternoons. We started this because we all like the game and wanted to see more of it happening around here. The office is usually cluttered with some gear, papers, and maybe a stray ball or two under the table. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. Most of us have other jobs, so we come here in the evenings or whenever we can find a spare hour. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but that’s not really a priority right now. We’d rather focus on the actual work than worrying about the decor. Sometimes the neighbors come by to chat, and we end up losing half an hour just talking about local news. It’s a very informal atmosphere. We don't really have set hours; someone is usually around if the lights are on. It's just a bunch of people who care about football trying to keep things going in our corner of Kolkata. It's tough work and doesn't pay much, but we keep showing up anyway because it's what we do.
