Maths Tutor

If you go down Sealdah Station Road in Kolkata 700014, you will find where we do our tutoring. Being so close to the station means there is a constant flow of people and the sound of train whistles in the distance all day long. Maths Tutor is a simple setup for students who need a bit of extra help. It is basically just a room with a big table and some chairs where we sit down and work on numbers together. Math can be hard for a lot of people, so we try to make it feel less scary by just talking through the problems like we are having a normal conversation. We don't use any fancy software or tablets, just pens, paper, and maybe a chalkboard if we need to show something to a few people at once. The floor is concrete and we have a small shelf for books that are mostly falling apart from being used so much. During the monsoon, the rain hits the roof so loud we have to raise our voices a bit just to be heard. It is a humble place and we keep a water bottle on the table for anyone who gets thirsty. We don't promise anything crazy, we just sit here and do the sums until they make sense. Students usually grab a snack from the vendors near the station before they come in for their session. It is a very grounded atmosphere.
