Marks Associates

We’ve been here at W-4-B in the Rang Tarang Apartments for quite a while now. If you know New Alipore, you know how Block-C gets in the afternoons. It’s mostly quiet except for the usual traffic on Ramtanu Lahiri Sarani. Our office is tucked away in 53 and 54. It isn’t some fancy high-rise glass building. It’s just a regular spot in an apartment complex where we get our work done. Some days the lift acts up, so we end up taking the stairs, which isn’t great for the knees but keeps us moving. We know the security guards by name and they know us. Most of the people around here are just neighbors going about their day. We started Marks Associates with a few desks and a lot of coffee. It gets a bit cramped when we have all the files out, but we make it work. The light comes in through the windows nicely in the morning. It’s a practical place. We don’t have a big reception area or anything like that. Just some chairs and our computers. People usually find us easily enough because everyone knows the Rang Tarang buildings. It’s a decent area to work in, honestly. We’ve seen a lot of businesses come and go on this street, but we’re still here, doing what we do every day. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s ours. We just keep our heads down and handle the paperwork as it comes in.
