Madhusudan Concrete Block Pvt. Ltd. is tucked away at 69 Safuipara in the Baidyapara area. It’s not on a main highway, so it’s a bit quieter than some of the other big industrial spots. We have a decent-sized space here where we cast and store the concrete blocks. You can usually see them stacked up high if you walk past the gates during the day. The neighborhood is a mix of small workshops and family homes. We know the neighbors pretty well by now and they know us. The work is steady and repetitive. We mix, we pour, we let things dry under the sun. It’s a rhythm that we’ve gotten used to over the many years we've been here. The office is just a small room at the front with a couple of old chairs and a ceiling fan that squeaks constantly. We do all our billing and phone calls from that desk. It gets quite hot in the summer, so we usually start early in the morning to beat the worst of the heat. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a bit of trouble navigating the smaller streets around Safuipara, but they always manage to get here eventually. We don't have a website or anyone to handle marketing. Most people just know we are here because they live nearby or someone told them about our blocks. It’s a local operation through and through. We just focus on making the blocks and getting them where they need to go without much fuss or any bother.
