Up on the 4th floor of the building on Wood Street, it’s a bit quieter than the actual steel yards. Ln Steel And Alloys is based in Flat No 4C. Even though we are in an office, we are always talking about metal. The phones ring pretty often with people asking about different alloy types or delivery dates. We spend a lot of time looking at logistics and making sure the shipments from the plants are going to the right place. It’s a lot of paperwork and tracking numbers. The view from the window is just other buildings, but inside we are focused on the industrial side of things. We have a small team here. We usually eat lunch together at our desks while discussing the current market prices. It’s a practical environment. No one wears a suit unless they really have to. We have samples of different metals sitting around on the shelves, mostly as paperweights. Sometimes we have to stay late to coordinate with people in different time zones or wait for a late-night delivery confirmation. It’s a lot of coordination. We’ve been in this spot for a while and the elevator still takes forever. We just do our work and try to keep things organized. It’s a steady routine of emails, calls, and spreadsheets. We know our stuff when it comes to the metals we handle every day.
