Lifewise Foundation

Our office is located at Amarshi Kasba in East Midnapore, care of SK Idrish. It is a pretty traditional spot, right in the heart of the local community. We aren't a big city foundation with lots of money or expensive equipment. We are just local people who decided to get together and do something. The office is small and simple. We have a couple of desks and some chairs that have seen better days. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but we have an old fan that helps a little. We spend most of our time talking to people in the village of Amarshi. It is the kind of place where everyone knows everyone else. We don't use any fancy language or try to sound more important than we are. We are just trying to be useful. Some days we are working on local health stuff, and other days it is just helping someone fill out a form. It is not the kind of work that gets you on TV, but it is important to the folks who live here. We don't have a big staff, just a few volunteers who show up when they can. We take things one day at a time. It is a slow way of working, but it is honest. We don't have a mission statement on the wall. We just know what needs to be done and we try to do it.
