Lafarge

We’ve been based here at Regent Estate for a while now, specifically in Flat 4A of Dhruba Apartments. It is a quiet residential part of Kolkata, but we stay busy with the day-to-day work for Lafarge. Most of our mornings start with checking the logs and seeing what needs to be moved or ordered. It is not some fancy glass office building, just a regular flat where we get things done. You can usually find us here during normal hours, though sometimes things get a bit chaotic when deliveries are delayed or the weather turns. The traffic on the way to 140 Regent Estate can be a pain in the afternoon, but we manage. We aren’t big on fancy meetings or corporate talk. We just focus on the job at hand. Sometimes the tea guy comes by and we take a quick break, then it’s back to the paperwork and the phone calls. Working out of an apartment means we know the neighbors and the local shops pretty well. It feels more like a community than just a place of business. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, but we’re still here in the same spot, keeping things moving. If the lift is working, it's an easy trip up to 4A. If not, well, we get our exercise for the day. It is simple work, but it keeps us on our toes and we like the routine of it all.
