Lafarge India

Our small branch of Lafarge India is located at B-1, Chitra, within the Neelachal Abason complex. It’s at 98 Rajdanga, over in Gold Park North here in Kolkata. Being in a residential-style building like this makes the office feel a bit different than a big glass tower. It’s mostly quiet, except when the trucks are coordinating nearby or when the rain starts coming down hard during monsoon season. We spend our days tracking shipments and talking to people who are building houses in the neighborhood. The office itself is pretty simple. We have our files, some computers that act up sometimes, and enough chairs for when a contractor drops in to discuss a delivery. It’s not a high-pressure corporate environment, just a practical place to get things done. We know the local streets well, and most of the people around Rajdanga recognize us by now. We don’t do a lot of shouting about what we do; we just make sure the cement gets to the site on time. Kolkata can be a bit slow in the afternoons, but there is always a ledger to update or a phone call to return. We keep the fans running high and just stay on top of the logistics. It’s a decent spot to work from, even if the stairs get tiring. We just try to stay organized despite the heat and the paperwork that seems to pile up every week.
