Up on the first floor of Sunny Tower, you will find us at Eoo 101B. It’s on Ashutosh Chaudhari Avenue, right in the middle of the bustle of Kolkata. This is where Lafarge India Pvt. Ltd. handles a lot of the more formal business for the region. It is a proper office building, though our particular unit is quite plain inside. We have rows of desks and a lot of ringing phones throughout the day. The traffic outside 700019 is constant, and you can always hear the horns and the city sounds drifting up. We don't have any flashy decorations on the walls, just a few calendars and some maps of the distribution routes. The work here is fast-paced because the city doesn't stop. We are mostly dealing with the larger contractors and the logistics of getting cement through the narrow city streets. We eat our lunch at our desks most days because there is always something that needs to be filed or a call that needs to be taken. It isn't a place for sitting around. We try to keep things organized, though with so many people coming and going, it can get a bit chaotic by Friday. We just do our bit to keep the wheels turning and the orders flowing out to the construction sites across the city, making sure the paperwork catches up with the trucks.
