We've been operating out of the old building on Girish Mukherjee Road for a while now. Most people around here in Kolkata know the spot, it’s number 23. It isn't a big fancy office with glass walls or anything like that. Just a group of us try to get things done every day. Sometimes the traffic outside gets really loud, especially in the afternoons, but managing it is just part of the routine. A lot of the day-to-day paperwork and community stuff happens right from these desks. It's nothing too special to look at, just a place where work gets done. There isn't a giant staff, so calling us usually means talking to one of the three or four people who are always here. Keeping things moving along is the goal, even when the weather gets messy or the internet acts up. Kolkata can be a busy place, but this little corner is ours. Books are piled up in the corner and someone's lunch usually smells like fish curry around noon. It’s a real place with real people. Spending money on fancy signs or expensive rugs isn't our thing. Most of the furniture is stuff we've had for years and it shows. We just show up, do the work that needs doing, and go home to our families. This setup is straightforward. No one promises anything that can't be done. Keeping the lights on and helping out where it's needed is what we do.
