Krishi Enterprise

Our office is at No. 17/2/4b Chakraberia Road South. It’s a narrow building on a street that stays pretty crowded. Krishi Enterprise has been operating from this spot for a long time. The entrance is a bit easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. Inside, it’s mostly shelves filled with ledgers and samples. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know the routine inside out. Every morning we sweep the front and get the tea started. South Kolkata has its own rhythm, and we’re part of it. The walls are covered in old maps and some calendars from years ago. We don't see the point in changing things if they still work. Sometimes the neighbors come in to complain about the noise or just to chat about the weather. We listen to both. The work itself involves a lot of coordination and checking lists. We aren't a high-tech company. We use old computers and do a lot of things over the phone. It’s a bit cramped when we have visitors, so we usually just talk out on the sidewalk. There’s a big tree near the entrance that gives some shade in the afternoons. It’s a simple setup. We come in, do what needs to be done, and head home when the sun goes down. It’s a quiet life, mostly, and we like it.
