Kcp Abiskar Foundation

Kcp Abiskar Foundation is based out of an old building on Nimtala Lane. We are on the first floor at number 4. If you know Kolkata, you know how these narrow lanes can get, especially when it’s raining or during festival times. It is a very old-fashioned part of the city. The walls here have that classic Kolkata look, maybe a bit of peeling paint here and there, but it feels like home to us. We aren't trying to be one of those modern startups in a high-rise. We like the history of Nimtala. The stairs up to our floor are a bit steep, so you have to watch your step. We keep a few chairs for guests and a big table where most of the talking happens. It’s usually quite loud outside with the street vendors and the traffic, but inside we just try to stay organized. There is no big marketing department here. It is usually just one or two of us answering the phone or filing papers. We’ve been in this spot for a bit and we don't plan on moving anytime soon. The tea shop at the corner is where we get our morning break. It’s a very grounded way to work. We don't use big words or fancy titles. We are just the people at number 4 Nimtala Lane. It's a crowded neighborhood, but we like the energy. It keeps us on our toes every single day and makes the work interesting.
