Jotish Welfare Foundation

Jotish Welfare Foundation is located at B-10/167 in Kalyani. This is in the Nadia district. Our office is basically a house in a residential block. It makes it very easy for people in the neighborhood to just walk over. We don't have a big sign with lights on it. There is just a small board so people know they have the right place. Kalyani is a planned town, so the streets are nice, but we are still just a small local operation. We don’t have a huge staff or a call center. When the phone rings, one of us just picks it up. We don’t have scripts or formal ways of talking. We just talk like normal people. The office is full of books and files that have been there for years. We like the history of the place. We don't spend money on new furniture every year. The old desks work just fine. Our work in Nadia is mostly about being a constant presence. People know they can find us at B-10/167 if they have something to discuss. It’s a very grounded way of working. We don’t have a big advertising budget because we don’t really need one. Word gets around. We just focus on the daily tasks and try to stay helpful to the folks around us. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we do and we are happy with it.
