Job Gallery

Our office is at Esplanade, specifically No. 155 Lenin Sarani. If you know the city, you know Esplanade is always crowded with people heading to work or catching a bus. We are right in the middle of all that. Our place, Job Gallery, is where we try to help people find employment. It’s mostly desks and filing cabinets filled with papers and resumes. People come in all day long, some looking hopeful and others looking a bit tired of the whole process. We spend a lot of time on the phone or sitting at the computer looking at listings. It’s not a fancy office—the paint is peeling a bit in the corners and the chairs are a little squeaky—but it’s where we do our work. We listen to people talk about what they can do and what kind of work they’re looking for. Sometimes we have good news for them, and other times we don't have anything that fits. It can be a bit stressful when things are slow, but we just keep at it. The noise from Lenin Sarani is always there in the background, like a hum that never stops. We take our breaks when we can and try to stay organized, even when the paperwork starts to pile up on the desks. We’re just regular people trying to help other people find a way to earn a living in a big city.
