We are tucked away at 1/1B Barick Lane. It’s a narrow little lane and sometimes people miss the turn if they aren't looking closely. The building we’re in is an older one, like most of the structures around here. It has a lot of character, even if the walls could use a fresh coat of paint. Our space is pretty cramped because we have so many things stored everywhere. There are boxes stacked up in the corners and files piled high on the desks. We don't really mind the clutter though; it shows we're actually doing something. The neighborhood is quiet for the most part, except for the occasional scooter zooming by or neighbors chatting at their doorsteps. We’ve got a small window that looks out onto the lane, but there’s not much of a view. It’s mostly just for a bit of fresh air. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who have known each other for a long time. We start the day by opening up the shutters and letting some light in. Most of the work involves talking to people on the phone and writing down orders in our ledgers. It’s a very manual way of doing things, but it’s how we’ve always done it at Barick Lane. We don't need a fancy corporate office to do our job. This little spot is enough for what we need. It's just us and our daily tasks in the lane.
