Manicktala Main Road is a place that never really stays quiet, and our office at 237/J is right in the thick of it. Ir Market Intelligence is located here, and we have become quite familiar with the local shopkeepers and the general rhythm of the street. It is a very busy part of Kolkata, and there is always something to see out the window if you need a quick break from the computer. We do market research and intelligence work, which basically means we spend our time looking at trends and trying to understand what people are buying or doing. We don't have a fancy office with expensive furniture. In fact, our chairs are a bit old and the desks don't match, but they work just fine for us. Usually, whoever is closest to the entrance is the one who greets people when they come in. The space is a little tight because we have stacks of reports and files everywhere, but we have a system and we know where things are. It is an honest way to earn a living, and we take the work seriously even if we don't have a polished corporate image. Some days the noise from the traffic outside is pretty loud, but that is just part of being in Manicktala. We like being here because it feels like we are in the real heart of the city, working among other people who are also just trying to get through their workday.
