Intourist Pvt Ltd Hotel

Our place is at 133A, Rash Behari Ave, right where it meets Sarat Bose Road. It’s a very active part of Kolkata. The building has been around for quite some time and you can tell by looking at the architecture. We don't have those big glass elevators or anything like that. It’s a bit more traditional. We have a small entrance and a desk where we keep the guest book. There are a few of us who work here in shifts. Most of our guests are people coming into the city for a few days to see relatives or do some small business. The rooms have fans and basic furniture. We try to keep it clean, but with the city dust, it's a constant job. The street noise is quite loud during the day with all the taxis and buses honking. You can smell the food from the stalls nearby, which is nice if you're hungry. We don't have a big kitchen ourselves. It’s a modest hotel. We have some regulars who have been coming here for years whenever they are in town. We know their names and how they like their tea. It feels more like a house than a big corporate hotel. We just keep things running as best as we can every day. It’s a lot of work but it’s our life. The paint is peeling a bit near the ceiling in the hallway.
