Indranath Chatterjee

My workspace is at 24 Bagha Jatin Road. I am located just before the ISI area in Kolkata. My name is Indranath Chatterjee, and I’ve been working from this location for quite a few years now. The road outside can get quite busy with buses and commuters heading toward the institute, but inside my place, it’s mostly just the sound of papers turning. I didn't want a fancy office in a big building, so I stayed here. It is a convenient spot for anyone coming from the northern parts of the city. I do a lot of my work solo, though I have people stop by frequently to discuss their requirements. The room is pretty basic—just my desk, some filing cabinets, and a few chairs for visitors. I tend to keep things very informal. If you come by, you’ll probably find me surrounded by notes and half-finished tea. I don't follow a strict corporate manual. I just do what needs to get done. The neighborhood is familiar to me, and I like that people can just drop in. Finding the place is easy enough if you know the landmark of the ISI. I’ve always preferred this kind of small-scale, personal way of working. It feels more real than being in a glass tower somewhere. Just me, my books, and the daily tasks at hand on Bagha Jatin Road. It keeps me busy and connected to the people who live and work in this part of town.
