Iirwm Educational Foundation

We’re up on the 7th floor at 425 Jodhpur Park. The building is one of those tall ones you see around that part of Kolkata, near LP 145/1. It’s called Iirwm Educational Foundation. It’s a bit of a climb if the lift is acting up, which happens now and then. Inside, it’s mostly just shelves full of files and a couple of old computers. We spend most of our time looking at records and trying to keep everything in order. Jodhpur Park is a busy area, so there’s always noise from the street coming up even to the 7th floor. We’ve got a small window that looks out over the rooftops. It’s not a corporate headquarters or anything like that. It’s just where we come to work every morning. Most of us take the bus or the auto to get here. We usually have tea brought in from the shop downstairs twice a day. The office is a bit cramped, honestly. We have boxes piled in the corners and the desks are always messy. But we know where everything is. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If someone comes by, one of us just gets up and answers the door. It’s a simple operation. We do what we can with what we have. It’s been our base for a while now and we’re used to the quirks of the building. We try to be helpful when people call but sometimes the phone line is fuzzy.
