Hummingbird Foundation

Our place is on Jadunath Sarkar Road, specifically at P110 on the first floor. It is right in the 700029 area of Kolkata. To get to us, you have to walk up the stairs since we aren't on the ground level. The building has that classic Kolkata feel to it, maybe a bit older but sturdy. From the windows, you can see the traffic moving along Jadunath Sarkar Road all day long. It gets pretty noisy during the rush hour, but we’ve gotten used to the honking and the shouting from the street. The first floor is a good spot because it’s not too many steps up but we are still away from the dust of the road. There’s a bit of a landing outside our door where we sometimes leave our shoes if it’s raining. Inside, it’s mostly just a regular workspace with some old shelves and a few computers that have seen better days. We don't have a big sign out front, just the address P110. The light in the afternoons is quite nice, though it gets very hot in the summer months. Most days, we are just here at our desks, working through whatever needs doing. It’s a practical location for us and easy for people to find. There are plenty of tea stalls nearby which is a plus when we need a quick break. It feels like a real part of the neighborhood.
