Hr Ektaindia Foundation

Our foundation is located at 75 Phears Lane in Kolkata. If you know the area, you know it is always crowded and full of life. The building we are in is quite old and has a lot of character, even if the stairs are a bit steep for some. We are right in the middle of all the action, which is great for meeting people. Our space is just a few rooms filled with desks and a lot of folders. We don't have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. You just walk in and we are right there working. We focus on unity and bringing people together for different causes. Most days are pretty busy with people dropping in to talk or drop off documents. The street noise is constant, but you get used to it after a while. We have a small balcony where we keep a few plants, though they struggle a bit with the city air. We drink a lot of chai during the day to keep us going. It is a very straightforward place. We don't use big words or have complicated rules. We just want to help out where it is needed in India. Sometimes the ceiling leaks a little when it pours, but we just put a bucket under it and keep on working. It is a real place with real people doing what they can for others.
