We are located at 137/22, Matangini Pallydhalipara, which is near R.C. Thakurani. It’s a bit of a mouthful of an address if you’re trying to tell someone over the phone. The area is mostly houses and small shops, and our place fits right in with the rest of them. We’ve got a small gate that creaks a bit when you push it open. Inside, the rooms are small but we make do with the space we have. There are posters and charts taped to the walls to keep track of what we are doing each week. It’s not a very quiet place because the street outside is always busy with people walking to the local shops or the temple. Dhalipara is a tight-knit community, so people generally know where we are even if the house numbers are a bit confusing. We have a small kitchen area where we boil water for coffee and sometimes heat up our tiffin boxes at lunchtime. The floor is made of red tiles that have seen better days. We don't spend money on fancy furniture; we just use what was already here or what we could find for cheap. It feels like a real part of the neighborhood, not some separate entity. We usually finish up our work by the early evening before the mosquitoes start getting too bad around the windows. It’s just us doing what we can with what we’ve got.
