Hastings Resorts Private Limited has its office on the second floor of 19-B J.L. Nehru Road in Kolkata. This is one of the most famous roads in the city, right near the Esplanade and the big Maidan. The building we are in is quite old, like most of the structures in this part of town. Our office isn't a resort itself; it’s just the place where we manage all our hospitality business and keep our records. We don't have a fancy lobby or a modern elevator. There is an old manual lift that we use, and sometimes it doesn't work so we have to take the stairs. Our office is a simple one with high ceilings and some old wooden desks. We are a small team of four people who have been working together for a long time. We don't have any corporate slogans on the walls. We just have a lot of paperwork and some maps of the properties we handle. The noise from the trams and the traffic on J.L. Nehru Road is always there in the background. We don't have a big marketing team to tell us what to say. We just deal with our clients in a very straightforward way. Sometimes we have to deal with old building problems like leaky pipes or flickering lights, but we just get on with it. We’ve been at 19-B for years and we’re part of the history of this neighborhood.
