Hari Dhaam Selfless Love Association

Hari Dhaam Selfless Love Association is found at 3/3, Gauri Shankar Ghosal Lane in the Sastitala area of Narkeldanga. It’s a bit of a maze to get through the lanes sometimes, but once you find Gauri Shankar Ghosal Lane, we are right there. The building is a typical Narkeldanga house, squeezed in between its neighbors. We have a small sign out front, but it’s a bit faded from the sun. Inside, the space is divided into a couple of small rooms. It’s quite cozy, maybe even a little too small when we have all our volunteers in at once. We spend our days coordinating different activities and talking to people from the neighborhood. There is always a pot of tea being made in the back, and the smell of spices from the neighbors' kitchens often drifts in. The floors are made of old stone, and they stay nice and cool even when it’s hot outside. We don’t have any fancy posters or corporate mission statements on the walls. Instead, we have calendars and handwritten lists of things we need to do. It’s a very grassroots feeling here. We know most of the people who live on the lane by name. Sometimes we just sit on the front step to catch a bit of a breeze and chat with whoever is passing by. It’s just a small, local association trying to keep things moving. We don't have many resources, but we make do with what we have in this little office.
