Grihasree Micro Service Foundation is located in the village of Uttar Kamakhyaguri. If you are looking for us, we are right by the power house. The address is C/O Dinobandhu Barman. Being in Jalpaiguri, we get plenty of rain, and the area stays quite green most of the year. Our office is just a simple room in the village where we keep our files and meet with people from the community. It’s a local place through and through. You might hear the hum from the power house nearby while we work, but you get used to it after a while. Dinobandhu has been here a long time, so his name is well known in the neighborhood. We don't have fancy air conditioning or sleek furniture. It’s just wooden tables and some old chairs that have seen better days. We start early in the morning before it gets too humid. Most of our day is spent talking to folks from the village who stop by. Sometimes they just come in to say hello while they are passing by the power house. We try to stay organized, but with so many people coming in, the paperwork tends to pile up on the corners of the desks. It’s a practical space for practical work, and we like being right here in the heart of Uttar Kamakhyaguri where everything is happening. The villagers know us and we know them, which makes the work feel more natural.
