You’ll find Grandmax International Hotels in an old building at 1 Crooked Lane. We are in Room No. 126 on the 1st floor. It’s one of those classic Kolkata streets that has been there forever. The office isn't very large, but it’s where we do all our planning and phone calls. It gets a bit cramped when we have all the staff in at once, but we make it work. We aren't a giant international firm, despite the name. We are just a local group trying to manage hotel properties. It’s mostly about keeping track of the day-to-day things that happen at the various spots we look after. There’s a lot of paper moving across the desks and plenty of tea being drunk throughout the day. We don’t have a PR team or anyone to polish up our image. This is just a real office with real people. Sometimes the fans are noisy and the street outside is full of people shouting, but that’s the charm of working in this part of town. We’ve been here long enough to know where to get the best snacks and which shortcuts to take through the lanes. It’s a basic operation. We show up, do the work, and try to keep everything moving. It’s not always easy, but it’s what we do. We're just here on the first floor doing our bit.
