The office is located in a pretty lively area, so there is always something to see out the window. It is not a very big space, just a few rooms where we have our desks and some filing cabinets that are starting to get a bit full. We do a lot of consultancy work, which means we spend a lot of time talking and writing. We don't have a fancy reception area or anyone to greet you at the door; we usually just shout hello from our desks if someone walks in. We try to keep things simple and not get too bogged down in complicated systems. Most of our days are spent on the computer or chatting with people who need our help. We have a small kettle in the corner for making tea, and that gets a lot of use throughout the day. The building is older, and sometimes the windows rattle when a heavy truck goes by, but it has a nice feel to it. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees. We are just a few people working hard in a local neighborhood. We like the honesty of our work and the fact that we can just be ourselves while we are doing it. We stay busy and we like it.
