You can find Icon Home Appliances right on Pranabananda Road, which is pretty easy to spot if you are familiar with the Garia area. We are tucked in near the Garia Metro line, so there is always a lot of movement and noise around us. It's one of those spots where people are constantly rushing to catch a train or heading home after a long day at work. Inside the shop, it’s mostly just us and a bunch of different machines like fridges and washing machines taking up most of the floor space. It gets a bit cramped sometimes when a new delivery arrives and we have to shuffle everything around to make a path. Working here means hearing the metro rumble every so often. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in Kolkata, just a place where folks nearby can stop in and see what we have. The street can get a bit messy during the monsoon rains, which makes it a real struggle to keep the floor clean, but that’s just part of having a shop on this road. Most of our day is spent talking to neighbors or checking the stock levels. We don’t really use fancy scripts or sales pitches; we just show people what’s available on the floor. Sometimes we just sit on the chairs and watch the traffic go by when things are quiet. Being near the metro station definitely keeps things interesting because you never know who might walk through the door.
