We run our operations at 172 Ramesh Dutta Street, where we focus on making bags and apparel. The building has been our home for quite a while now. Inside, the space is divided into areas for cutting, sewing, and packing. It’s a very hands-on environment. You won’t find many computers here; instead, there are industrial sewing machines and heavy-duty scissors. We work with various textiles, so there’s always a bit of lint in the air and piles of colorful fabric waiting to be turned into something useful. The street outside is usually busy with people and traffic, but inside we just focus on the tasks at hand. Every bag we make goes through several hands before it’s finished. We have a routine that starts early in the morning and goes until the sun sets. It’s not a fancy setup with air conditioning and glass walls. We have ceiling fans that spin fast to keep the air moving while the workers stitch and seam. Most of the people here live nearby, so it’s a real community feel in the workshop. We don't spend money on big advertisements. We just hope the stitching stays tight and the handles we put on our bags are strong enough for whatever people carry. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living, and we enjoy seeing the finished products stacked up and ready to be shipped out to customers.
