Carry On Luggage & Baggage

Carry On Luggage & Baggage is located inside the Bikaner Building on Lal Bazar Street. We are way up on the 3rd floor in the South Block. It’s a bit of a trek up there, but once you arrive, you’ll see where we keep all the bags. The building itself has that old feeling, with thick walls and high ceilings. Being in the South Block means we get a bit of a different view than the shops on the street level. We have all kinds of baggage scattered around the room. Sometimes it feels like we are drowning in nylon and polyester, especially when a new shipment arrives. We spend a lot of time checking the locks and the handles on the carry-on bags. Lal Bazar Street at No. 8/1 is always buzzing with people, and sometimes that energy reaches us up on the third floor. We don't have any flashy signs or big displays. It’s just a workspace with a lot of luggage piled up. Most of our day is spent talking to people about which bag fits in an overhead bin or which one can handle being tossed around by baggage handlers. It gets hot in the afternoons, so we usually have the windows open to catch whatever breeze comes through the Bikaner Building. It's a straightforward life here, just focusing on the bags and the people who need them.
